Lepat Pisang

Lepat pisang is also known as steamed kuih in the banana leaves. It is very famous in the kampung-kampung in Malaysia. It is a sweet dessert and it is very simple to make.

Ingredients
  • 450g ripen bananas
  • 4 tbsp sugar/brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp grated coconut 
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 120g flour
  • 10g tapioca flour
  • 10g rice flour
  • Some banana leaves (cut into 17cmX11cm)

Method
  1. Peel and mash the bananas coarsely.
  2. Steam the grated coconut with salt until softened.
  3. Add the sugar, grated coconut, flour to the bananas mixture.
  4. Wrap the mixture by 2-3 tbsp wrap and secure with toothpick or staple on the sides.
  5. Steam the kuih, medium heat for 10-15 mins.
